Between 9 Y 22 August two of the most traditional and representative meetings will be held in the City, as are the Festival and the Tango World Cup Buenos Aires. In that context, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the City, The official Preliminaries began for both contests.

Newly way, and for the first time in history, a special meeting was held at London Paddington Station, where 250 people danced to the rhythm of 2×4 in the renowned place, within the UK Tango Festival & Championship 2018.

The total concurrent, from different places around the planet, 36 Couples competed for a place in the semiminals of the Tango Buenos Aires Festival and World Dance Championship 2018.

In this way, during 3 journeys, participants did not just compete for a place, but they also dedicated their time to learning and discovering Argentine tango.

In the Tango de Pista category, the champions were Andrea Serban and Endre Szeghalmi, representing Oradea,Romania; while in Stage Tango the first place was in the hands of Mirella Ramona Santos David and Joao Carlos Santos David of Hague, Holland.

The jury of the competition was formed by Josefina Bermúdez Avila, Fabian Peralta, Noelia hurtado, Carlos Espinoza, Cecilia Berra and Horacio Godoy.

On the other hand, the sessions had 14 workshops, special performances with international artists and a total of 25 hours of dancing.

It should be added that the Preliminaries are carried out not only in different parts of the country, but also abroad.

In that context, The National Preliminaries will be held in blue (Buenos Aires), City Dance Championship (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires), Comodoro Rivadavia (Chubut), Corrientes (Corrientes), Saint Joseph of Metán (Salta), Godoy Cruz (Mendoza), Junín (Buenos Aires), Marcos Juarez (Córdoba), Pinamar (Buenos Aires), Santa Fe (Santa Fe) and Villa Constitución (Santa Fe) while abroad they will be in Palermo (Italy), Cali (Colombia), European championship, Istanbul (Turkey), Montreal (Canada), London (UK), Moscow (Russia), Nanjing (China), Osorno (Chile), San Francisco (U.S), Saint Paul (Brazil), Seoul (South Korea) and Tokyo (Japan).
