About to launch "Silver Bullet", his new album-and the first acoustic format; Mancha de Rolando will be performing this Friday 7 September at La Trastienda and before the show The sidewalk spoke with Manu Quieto, singer and guitarist of the band.the new album, composed of twelve songs (two of them new), It will be launched on the same day of the recital and can be purchased at the traditional San Telmo venue.. But nevertheless, those hoping to witness a completely acoustic concert, they are wrong. “The show will be 90 electric percent, with an acoustic block, the musician anticipates and adds: “Unlike the album, where all the instruments are in an unplugged format, This concert would be difficult for us to transfer to the stage, since we are used to playing electric and even the public is used to experiencing it in a way. So we can't risk it, nor do we want to break that pogo part, dance…the essence”.

The vocalist highlights that “this album was made so that people can listen to it or watch it sitting at home.”, in a good team”, but nevertheless, for the band, “the live recital, After a whole week of working or studying...we can't hold a live acoustic recital. The same thing happens to me that I can't stand playing while sitting. 25 songs that way”.

The concert will have an acoustic segment where “the versions of the songs we made will remain faithful to the album.”. These themes had structural changes, because we were addressing songs from 2007 backwards".

How do you live before the concert??

First, happy because the ticket sales are very good and that is something that I always appreciate, because in the difficult times in which we are living, they make it very difficult to pay a ticket to see a recital, where people also have a very wide range of artists and being chosen is something that fills one with pride..

It will be one of the last presentations in Capital Federal. Surely something else will appear towards the end of the year, but not in La Trastienda. We usually do two or three recitals a year there in San Telmo, because we like it a lot. It is a place that is comfortable and sounds good.

Why Silver Bullet?

It is the metaphor that refers to the way you use to kill the werewolf. In this case, is to bring out our best-known songs to play in acoustic format and in the artists it is something that, at least once in his career, do. The two silver bullets that groups that have a career or several years of playing have are the live album and the acoustic one.. That's why we liked the Silver Bullet and thought it was a strong title., even because of the institutional violence in which we live.

On the other hand, it is also a mention of one of the two new songs on the album..

What is the good thing about having worked with a producer?

We are always recording. It is a very rich task and one that we love and now we are working together with Oscar Righi (ex Bersuit, current La Rayada with actress Romina Gaetani) and it's impressive what he brings out of us. Things we didn't even imagine, because it demands you on issues that we sometimes overlook and that is the good thing about working with a producer.

Is there an album that you highlight in this format??

I'm a fan of the one the Divided did in the Gran Rex. In which we are inspired, I'm a fan too, It is León Gieco's “Unplugged” (edited 1994).

I think that the songs we chose for our album are well translated into this format and we have been able to improve them.

What does the acoustic format contribute to the songs of La Mancha?

I love the acoustic format, the instrument is much richer. There are songs that I listen to today and I like them more, maybe because we are more mature and playing better. For example, there is a song from the album “Juego de locos”, which is “My school the way” which now has a version with strings, violin and viola, thanks to the contribution of two girl friends who play classical music and tango and also made the arrangements for other songs on the album.

Very slowly we are also preparing a kind of second volume, but obviously we will leave it for a few years. yes, The sketches of topics that were left out are already there, like “Where are we going?”, “Rain Wizard” (that train)” or “Cabrón”, to name a few.

What does the group have left for the rest of the year??

Other presentations will come, like in Chile, where we will do three shows in October, we will have our first time in Brazil, more precisely in Porto Alegre in December and in between we will be in all the provinces, more that hot days are coming and that predisposes the public in a different way.
