The Amazing World of Benito Laren, in the Fortabat Museum

The sample “Fabularen” opens its doors to the public on Friday 21 in fortabat art collection, Puerto Madero.
The retrospective exhibition traces the highlights of the career of the eccentric artist Benito Laren (St nicolas, 1962), whose work focuses on themes and concepts that revolve around the esotericism, UFOs and appointments masterpieces of art history.
From the generation of artists of 90 which showed in the Rojas Cultural Center at the time of Jorge Gumier Maier, Laren specimen is difficult to classify, who built a hilarious character around his figure and his works using media such as glass painted with enamels, foils and glitter, bicycle wheels, car doors and rackets.
The exhibition includes a total of 120 works, ranging from the first drawings of his childhood (“Casita”, of 1968), passes through the series of UFO ("Starry Journey" or "Guided Tour"), Follow brightly colored portraits that makes people like Frida Kahlo, Mirtha Legrand, Brigitte Bardot or Viviana Canosa, and reaches its permanent winks to the history of local and international art, as tributes to Xul Solar, Cándido López, and Antonio Berni on a Edvard Munch (a reversal of "The cry" under the title "A starry").

"Fabularen" will be open until 25 of June, at the Museum of Olga Cossettini 141, Madero Port (CABA), Tuesday to Sunday 12 a 20.
